COMPILATION: ADVENT CHILDREN: FAMILY

This may contain spoilers if you don't know the basics about Advent Children.

In "On The Way to A Smile," we find out that Cloud, Tifa, Marlene, and Denzel, who comes later, had formed a little family. Cloud and Tifa as the parents or caretakers, since they aren't married and the kids do not call them mother and father, and Marlene and Denzel as the two adorable kids. I mean you do have to admit they look cute together.

Marlene is like a minature verison of Tifa. She is carring and knows how to take care of Denzel. Sure her father will always be Barret but Marlene has been entrusted to Tifa by Barret many times. Marlene looks up to Tifa, as if she was an older sister. I believe she is Tifa's helper around Seventh Heaven. The girl can also give Cloud a little piece of her mind "Forget it Cloud! Why don't you pay any attention to us?" Tifa has taught Marlene well.

As Marlene is a minature Tifa, Denzel is a minature Cloud. Denzel joined the family when Cloud found him in 'his place' or Aerith's Chruch. Denzel's actions has showed he wants to be just like Cloud. When he tries to protect Tifa from Bahamut and even in the photo on Cloud's desk of their family. It was as if he didn't want to be in the picture. Denzel himself looked cold, unlike Marlene beside him. Not only that, but Denzel is shy. He would rather go and talk to Cloud first than tell Tifa and sometimes he doesn't tell her what he tells Cloud.

Tifa, the mother figure of the family, who tries to keep the family together; even if they weren't really a family. When their family was having problems because of Cloud being gone often after he had started his delivery service and when he had to go deliver a Bouquet to the The Forgotten City for Aeris' mother, Elmyra Gainsborough. Tifa tried to close the bar down and even talk to Cloud, but Cloud could never turn down a request and Cloud had to face his past when he goes on deliveries. But when Cloud brought Denzel home their little family was back on track again or as Tifa thought that maybe they were a "real" family now. Cloud was taking more time off, the kids were helping him with his delivery plans, and Cloud's and Tifa's "silly, little conversations" were back. But when Cloud left so sudden their family had a missing page, a hole. They missed Cloud, but didn't know where or why he left. But when Cloud found Tifa and she found out he had Geostigma, she brought Cloud to his senses.

Tifa:"You have Geostigma don't you."
"You're going to give up and die is that it?" "So it is."

Cloud: "There is no cure."

Tifa: "Yeah, but... That hasn't stopped Denzel, has it?"
"Dont run! We'll fight it together! We can help each other, I know we can!"
"I guess that only works for real families."

Cloud: "Tifa, I'm not fit to help anyone not my family, not my friends, nobody."

Tifa: "Dilly dally dilly shally"
"Dilly dally dilly shally"

Tifa to Cloud: "Stop running! I know... Even if you find the kids, you might not be able to help them. Something could happen that can never unhappen. That scares you, doesn't it? But you have to think about now. Really take it in! Look at you. You think you've got it so damn hard. Well, if you hate being alone, so let people in. Sure you won't answer the phone, but I don't see you throwing it away, either!"

With all that dilly dally she gave him the boost or strength to fight and to go save the kids. Her words impacted him the most.

Cloud at first was somewhat shy in his little famiy. Like in "On the way To A Smile," Tifa asked him, "Do you love Me?", but when Cloud woke up she askes him, "Hey Cloud. Do you love Marlene?" Cloud's reponse was, "Yeah. But sometimes I don't know how to approach her." But when Denzel came he opened up more and became more fatherly. Cloud thinks of them as his family for he states, "I'm not fit to help anyone. Not my family, not my friends, nobody." and Tifa's words really seemed like they affected him harshly. "Don't run! We can help each other I know we can. I guess that only works for realy familes." Sure Cloud didn't know his vegatables and he made a mistake to leave his family. But Cloud is Cloud and in the end he returned because he remembered what he was fighting for and came back. Cloud was just afraid, afraid to lose his happiness again, like before in the Nibelheim incident where he lost his hometown, mom, and almost Tifa.

In the end the little family got back together again. Cloud has showed that he wanted to come back to his family, when they were curing Denzel's Geostigma Cloud and Tifa were there acting like suppoting parents. Cloud, of course, kept his word and came "Home" or to Seventh Heaven. He also finally took a day off just what Tifa always wanted and that day may have been the Reunion, hint the Reunion picture taken in front of Seventh Heaven.

Call 1
Yuffie: Pick up the phone! Are you screening your calls? Head over to Barret's as soon as you get this, okay?

Call 2
Cloud: Hello
Cid: What do you know, he picked up! Yuffie was carbbing about you not answering.
Cloud: Yeah, I've been busy.
Cid: That's nice. I'm supposed to tell you to head over to Barret's place.
Cloud: I'm booked today.
Cid: Look, just show up! I don't want any part of all this!

Call 3
Cloud: Hello.
Vincent: I have a message from Yuffie: Get over to Barret's place.
Cloud: I'm on my way now.
Vincent: And give Yuffie this message from me: This is my phone. She has no right to call it.
Cloud: I'll let her know.

When Cloud reached Barret
Barret: I've been waiting for! I've got some work for you. Deliver this to Marlene and this one to Denzel. And this one here is for you from Yuffie.
Cloud: What's inside?
Barret: She didn't say. You'll just have to open it and-
Woah, what's the hurry?
....
What the hell? It's a "Closed for Business" sign.

Call 4
Cloud: Yeah, it's me. All I got left are the Midgar Deliveries. Why, did a client come in?
....
Tell them no. I'm taking tomorrow off.
....
No reason... Hey, Tifa. Can you close the bar tomorrow?
....
That was easy.
....
Okay, tell Denzel and Marlene. I'll see you later, then.

The family is finally at peace. Sure they may not be the most "perfect" family or a "normal" one, but they're family no matter what. So what will come of Cloud, Tifa, Denzel, and Marlene? Well, we'll just have to guess that ourselves or wait for Square Enix to hopefully give us an answer.
