COMPILATION: ADVENT CHILDREN: LAST ORDER

This may contain spoilers if you haven't played Final Fantasy VII.

Last Order is the short 25-minute short anime about the day when Nibleheim was destroyed. In the movie it gives you the explanation in an outsiders view instead of Cloud and Tifa explaining it in Final Fantasy VII. I thought it was great to have it in a film to get a more understanding. Especially of the Turks and Zack. You actually see Zacks character well in the movie he is quite the character and cocky. It also gives you many scenes that were never shown in Final Fantasy VII. All Final Fantasy VII shows is Tifa being strike by Sephiroth, then Zack appears runs past Tifa and he is sent flying to collide with a metal pod. Then Cloud comes and strikes Sephiroth off guard. He then picks up Tifa and props her against a pod. Sephiroth then comes with Jenova’s head and Cloud follows him. Sephiroth stabs Cloud and with Cloud’s remaining strength he lifts the Masamune and turns toward the edge making Sephiroth fall of the edge far below in the reactor and his sword to go with him. Last Order is somewhat different events and it allows you to see many fight scenes. However sadly with all of this included Last Order was only released in Japan apart of the Advent Pieces edition and hasn’t been released anywhere else.

During the film Cloud is with Zack, who is running away from the Shinra Grunts, of course you get some awesome action from Zack. Well anyways Cloud is somewhat unconscious during most of the film. In fact he doesn’t talk until he encounters Sephiroth. Zack carries Cloud through most of the short film while he fights against the Shinra Grunts. But then Zack leaves Cloud and leans him against something to go on ahead, but leaving his sword in front of him. While Tifa in the film is witnessing what Sephiroth has done to her hometown and in this madness she tries to go find Sephiroth and her father. But Tifa finds her father dead by the time she arrives. She cries, of course first her mom and now her dad, she has no more family. It was there in the film you see how Tifa is just like any other girl with sorrow. Seeing her father dead she attempts to go after Sephiroth at the reactor, but only to be stopped when he strikes her with his sword. She thinks about Cloud she states, “When I’m in danger, you will come, didn’t you promise me that? Cloud…” It then shows a picture of Cloud and Tifa on the well with a sky filled with stars above. Meanwhile Zack who reaches the town and was told that Tifa had run to the reactor where Sephiroth was located. But before Zack goes to find Tifa he goes back for Cloud because the Shinra Grunts were not capable of lifting Zack’s sword after he gets Cloud and onto a bike he goes and tries to save Tifa. When Zack finds Tifa at the reactor she was unconscious, but she regains conscious when Zack calls out her name repeatedly.

Tifa: “You came to this village just to investigate, right?”
“That’s why I brought you guys here.”
“That was all it was. How did it turn out like this?”
“I hate… ShinRa, SOLDIERs and you.”
“I hate you all.”

Zack: “Sorry I won’t as you to forgive me.”
“But please, allow me to atone for my sins.”

After this Zack goes to fight Sephiroth only to be defeated. Then Cloud has his turn and stabs Sephiroth, but he has his Shinra Grunt uniform currently on.

Sephiroth: “Who is this?”

Cloud “Give me back Mother, Tifa and the whole village.”
“I used to respect you, admire you.”

Then Cloud runs towards Tifa, picks her up, and puts her to the side propping her against a pod. He smiles when she regains conscious.

Tifa: “Cloud, you’re finally here.”
Cloud nods his head.
“You kept your promise.”
“You came for me when I was in danger.”

Cloud: “Sorry, I am a little bit late.”

Tifa: “Don’t worry, Cloud.”

Cloud then is interrupted by Sephiroth’s arrival for he cuts off Jenova’s head and walks towards where Cloud is. Zack tells Cloud to finish Sephiroth off. Cloud is stabbed two times by Sephiroth and in the second he holds Cloud out.

Sephiroth: “Did you think a mere human could defeat me?”
“Know your weakness.”

Cloud: “My family, my homeland. How dare you…”
“I can never forgive you.”
Cloud pulls the sword in to him more and then throws Sephiroth with the sword still in him.

Sephiroth: “No, that’s impossible…”
“Who are you, anyway?”
“Mother. Come with me to the promised land.”
Sephiroth then grabs Jenova’s head and jumps down into the hole in the reactor.

Cloud: “Sephiroth.”
Then he faints.

Tifa’s trainer, Xangan, carried Tifa, who lost conscious, away. Zack and Cloud were to be Hojo’s experiments. And the events that happened were to be erased, forgotten, hidden. Though Cloud and Zack were caught they escaped once again and try to go to Midgar. Cloud was again in his lifeless form caused by the Mako. But in the end they didn’t make it to Midgar together. The Shinra Grunts shot Zack to death and left Cloud to die before the Turks came. Their orders were to wait for the Turks, but the Shinra Grunts didn’t want to wait for them. They shot Zack leaving Cloud to die. Zack’s last words were, “Cloud, run!”
